WIFI4EU - FUNDING FOR PUBLIC WIFI INSTALLATIONS

WiFi4EU is a support program of the EU for cities, towns and municipalities to provide public Wi-Fi hotspots. The EU has launched a voucher system valued at up to € 15.000 per project for installation and equipment costs. The municipalities pay the cost for Internet line access and maintenance for at least three years. | ||

 | LOW COST Open Mesh hardware is affordable and includes a lifetime free license for cloud management. There is no monthly cost for licenses as is the case with other manufacturers. They only need to provide for the maintenance of the devices and cover the cost of the internet line for a minimum of 3 years. |

HOW TO REALISE MY WIFI4EU PROJECT WITH OPEN MESH? | ||
 | First, a municipality or institution must register on the WiFi4EU portal. Information about the project or a cost estimate are not necessary. IT service providers can also register and indicate where they provide their services. | |
 | Starting on the 15th of May at 1pm, municipalities and institutions may submit their application on the WiFi4Eu portal. Prior registration and verification by uploading supporting documents must be completed. The municipalities then receive a separate e-mail. | |
 | Upon receipt of the voucher municipalities have one and a half years to define and implement the project. A WiFi installation company of their choice or one of our many partners can be commissioned to complete the installation. The IT service provider will need to register on the portal before the 15th of May. | |
 | After the implementation of the project, the voucher can be redeemed. For this, the municipality and the IT service provider must confirm that you installed the network and that it is ready for use. After successful verification by means of remote monitoring, the payment to the IT service provider is made | |
